DEB SHEBISH is a dynamic, nuanced, and versatile violinist & fiddler. Her playing conveys a distinctive style with an effortless mastery and infectious joy.
Deb's versatility as a musician is apparent from the variety of her audiences and venues. Her Old-Time trio, Stuart, Spence & Shebish headlined the Rootsinphytaa Bluegrass Festival in Finland in June of 2024 and she was the recipient of the 2023 North Carolina Arts Council In These Mountains Folklife Apprenticeship Grant.
Deb has performed at Nashville's Ryman Auditorium with Mairead Ni Mhaonaigh and Ivan Goff, the United States Air Force Academy, the City of Helsinki’s Espanlava, Villanova University for the Irish Ambassador to the United States of America, the Kelly House in Philadelphia for the Prince of Monaco, and opened for Ray Charles as a violinist with the Gary Civic Orchestra.
She has performed at numerous festivals in the US and worldwide, including: Ireland's Waterford Tall Ships Festival, Bangor, the Got To Be NC Festival, Maine's Celtic Crossroads Festival, and the Leith Folk Club in Scotland.
As an educator, Deb has taught for the School District of Philadelphia, RJ Reynolds Performing Arts Magnet High School, St. Mary’s of the Woods College, and the Metropolitan Youth Orchestra of the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra.
